A special thank you goes out to Little Tikes for providing this free sample of the Lalaloopsy Baking Oven for my family to review as well as sponsoring this giveaway. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
If you are looking for a toy that can cause lots and lots of Mother and Daughter moments, then you will want to check out the Lalaloopsy Baking Oven.
This review experience has not only fulfilled my daughter’s wishes to mix, bake, and decorate, but has given her plenty of one on one time with me. Plus, this oven is adorable with it’s button knobs, heart shaped oven door, and signature Lalaloopsy safety pin decoration.
The Lalaloopsy Baking Oven comes with a Baking Pan, Cookie Mold, Heart Shaped Spatula, and 4 Measuring Spoons. It also contains a Cake Mix, Cookie Mix, and Frosting Mix as well as Heart Confetti. The instructions for this set are straight forward, no assembly is required, and the oven does require preheating before use.
In my daughter’s own words,”I like this set because you get to eat the cake or the cookies.” and “I like that you get to get your hands dirty and you get to be in charge of baking your dessert.”
To get started, we first made the Strawberry Cake. In order to do so, we followed the directions via the enclosed instruction manual.
FYI, the measuring spoons are labeled in Lalaloopsy terms like Sprinkles, Dashes, Pinches, and Big Pinches and there is a legend to convert it to actual measurements.
To create the dessert, all that was required was non stick spray, water, and a little mixing. Then the mix went into the pan. From there my daughter pushed it into the Lalaloopsy Baking Oven with the spatula and it baked for 12 minutes. You do have to keep the time.
Then the cake was moved into the cooling chamber for 5 minutes. While it cooled my daughter repeated the mixing process with the icing and I assisted her on occasion. She then removed the pan and transferred the cake to a plate.
Next, she decorated her cake and added sprinkles. In the meantime, I had cut out a cardboard cake platter from the box and she set it on top. After I got my photo, she proceeded to eat her creation.
Since only 2 mixes come with this set, I went ahead and ordered a few more including Chocolate and Sugar Cookies, Confetti Cake, and Chocolate and Strawberry Cake. Visit Lalaloopsy Baking Oven Mixes for additional products and flavors.
