A special thanks goes out to Ninja for providing my family with a Ninja Coffee Bar and inspiring this Homemade Butterscotch Macchiato recipe. Opinions expressed about this product are that of my own.
Recently, I have been drinking Cafe style beverages without leaving my home or paying someone to prepare them for me. I even created a Homemade Butterscotch Macchiato.
In order to make this delicious beverage, I used my Ninja Coffee Bar and added a hack to the Caramel Macchiato on page 43 of the included 100+ recipe booklet.
The Ninja Coffee Bar (Model CF082) is an innovative brewer that not only saves money by eliminating trips to the coffee shop, but also creates a traditional cup of coffee as well as the convenience of delayed brewing and single serve options.
My particular version of the Ninja Coffee Bar not only came with a scoop and permanent filter but a traditional glass carafe, Milk Frother and a Hot and Cold Tumbler with lid and straw for travel.
To get started with preparing my Homemade Butterscotch Macchiato recipe, I first had to make the sauce and then brew the specialty drink. To recreate it, the details are below.
If you would like to make a Butterscotch Sauce for one serving, you will need the following:
2 Tbsp of Butterscotch Chips
1 Tbsp of Unsalted Butter
1 Tbsp of 1% Milk
Directions: Combine all of the ingredients in a microwavable safe bowl. Cook in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Do this again for 10 more seconds and stir until completely combined.
To prepare my Homemade Butterscotch Macchiato you will need the following:
3 Scoops of Ground Coffee (3 Tablespoons)
1/2 Cup of 1% Milk
3 Tablespoons of Butterscotch Sauce
Directions:
I first added coffee to the included filter and pressed the Specialty Brew Button on my Ninja Coffee Bar.
Next, I put a 1/2 cup of 1% milk and 2 Tbsp of the Butterscotch Sauce in the frother and cooked it in the Microwave (lid removed) for 1 minute. I then pumped the frother around 15 times (I may have went over a few).
After the coffee finished brewing in the Ninja Coffee Bar, I carefully poured my froth over the top and drizzled the rest of my Butterscotch Sauce.
What my drink lacks in design, I made up for in flavor. I am feeling pretty good about my barista skills and can’t wait to continue to experiment with beverages.
And speaking of experimenting, if you are looking for another awesome tasting definitely check out the recipe for Iced Mocha Latte. Look on Page 87 of the Ninja Coffee Bar Recipe Booklet.
It is delicious over ice drink and works out great in the tumbler. (Tip: I made mine skinny with 1% Milk)
What kind of brewer do you currently own, or do you go to a coffee shop for your beverages? What is your favorite kind of specialty coffee?
