Frugal and Fun Mom was provided a copy of Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney to facilitate this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney boy with

Do you have a LEGO builder in your home? Well I have 2 so far, and my son is definitely a SUPER FAN!

I guess I don’t have to mention that he was really excited when we received a copy of  Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney.

Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney

Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney is a LEGO “How To” book that shows models built with just 35 pieces. It has 75 models featured, and plenty of robots, furniture, vehicles, and more. In addition, there are also farm animals, creatures from the rain forest, and even a mosquito.

Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney making models in

Sean Kenney is an artist who creates sculptures and models out of LEGO bricks at his studio in New York City. He is a LEGO-certified professional, and has toured the world with his creations.

In the forward of the book, Sean says “The coolest thing about playing with my LEGO pieces is that I can build a million creations over and over with the same parts.” I’m not sure if my son can build a million creations, but I like how his creativity and hand-eye coordination is encouraged by this book.

Models in Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney

My son has had a great time building these LEGO models, and even put together a couch and a coffee table with a remote.  I could tell that he was really proud of himself. I think Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney would make an excellent birthday present for a LEGO bricks enthusiast, or a wonderful addition to this years Christmas presents.

Do you have a LEGO Builder in your home? What is their favorite kind to build? (From Scratch, Chima, Star Wars, Super Heroes, Etc).

Cool Creations in 35 Pieces by Sean Kenney retails for $12.99 and is published by Henry Holt and Company, LLC.  It’s ISBN is 978-0-8050-9692-7 and is intended for children Ages 4 to 8.

My three boys ages 11, 7 and 4 love playing with LEGO, and I sure hope my baby girl will too one day. My oldest son loves building air planes, my middle son loves building cars, trucks, boats, planes etc., and my youngest son is just excited when he creates something. What a cool book!

I actually have several LEGO fans in my house. My 10 year old son loves them all, but I think Star Wars ones are his favorite. My 8 year old daughter loves the LEGO Friends sets, especially since one shares her name (Mia). And then there is the big kid, my husband! He's been collecting LEGO sets since before I knew him (you should see my attic!)
