I was provided a Frigo Cheese Heads product pack to facilitate this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

Semihomemade Pizza made with Frigo Cheese Heads Light String

Summer is here and I want lunches and dinners that are easy!

Since we are out running around and playing in the pool and I don’t want to be stuck in a hot kitchen.

Frigo Cheese Heads Light String Cut up

To make one afternoon lunch simpler, I put together a pizza bar for my kids and we made mini pizzas.

As you may already know, Frigo Light Cheese Head Cheese Sticks are great for snacks and perfect for throwing in a cooler.  However, they are also perfect additions to many dishes, and they make a great alternative to shredded cheese on a pizza.

To get started making our pizzas, we needed a base. English muffins, pitas, or even pre-toasted garlic bread are a perfect for this. They can be served hot or cold depending upon whether you want to turn on the oven or not.

Tip: If you want it heated, simply put it under the broiler until the pepperonis start to curl.

Pizzas made with Frigo Cheese Heads Light String and sauce

For toppings, I just raided the fridge and used canned corn, cherry tomatoes, sliced olives, green onion, mini pepperonis, marinara sauce, and of course cut up Mozzarella Cheese Sticks.

These were all kid friendly finger foods that my guys could add to the pizzas themselves, and that is exactly what they did.

Pizzas made with Frigo Cheese Heads Light String being eaten

I didn’t have to ask the kids twice to eat their food.  They gobbled these pizzas up.

This not only had to do with the fact that they made it themselves, but that the pizzas also tasted YUMMY!

Do you make semi-homemade pizzas? What ingredients do you use?

I really like the idea of using the cheese sticks as a topping because it isn’t as messy and they hold their form.

My husband came home asking if we had any left overs, I guess NOT! Needless to say, we will definitely be doing this again.

We actually do make them homemade sometimes and we use string cheese as a topping also. We also like to add mushrooms, peppers, pepperoni and sometimes sausage.

I love how you have set up the ingredients for them to use on their pizza. I don't think I would have ever thought to use Frigo Light Cheese Head so will keep that one in mind for the next time we make pizzas. Kids do seem to eat better when they are involved with the making of it, don't they.

We almost always have that cheese in our house. I've never thought of using it for pizza!
