The following is a sponsored post on behalf of RoseArt Magic Fun Dough. I was provided a Magic Fun Dough Kit along with refills to facilitate this review. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

Looking for a toy that keeps your child’s interest for longer than 30 minutes, encourages hand-eye coordination, and gets the imagination going?
Recently I was sent a RoseArt Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove Kit to review with my children here on Frugal and Fun Mom. My kids have really enjoyed this set and have made characters, shapes, and even made pretend food out of the dough. Not to mention my kids want to play with it all the time.
How does Magic Fun Dough to work?
Magic Fun Dough has been formulated to allow the application of transfers (AKA Temporary Tattoos). These transfers are applied by water and can be used to make characters or objects that go along with the theme of the kit. Once your child is through playing with their creation, they simply smash into the dough and it disappears.
These toys are intended for children 3 and up and come in 6 varieties including Princess & Ponies, Pet Shop, Pirate Cove, Barnyard, Fairy Tea Party, and Volcano Valley. The kits range in price between $9.99 and $19.99.
Pirate Cove has transfers related to a ship along with pirate characters. The kit comes with a Rolling Pin, Plastic Knife (sword), 35 Magic Transfers, Water Pen, Transfer Press, 4 Dough Cutters, 4 Display Stands, and 4 Magic Fun Dough Tubs. Pirate Cove retails for $14.99.
Both my kids have played with Magic Fun Dough Pirate Cove Kit, and my 7-year-old son can pretty much make creations on his own. My 5-year-old needs a little more help since she gets carried away with the water, and has less patience. She has gotten better at it, but still needs some help.
Here is a step by step of how my son made his Magic Fun Dough creation:
First pick the shape and transfer you want. Then smooth out the dough with the enclosed rolling-pin. Once you get to the desired thickness, apply the cutter. I suggest making the dough as thick as the cutter so it will be sturdier. Pull the cutter up and remove the excess dough with the sword.
Next, remove the plastic from the transfer and apply it with the enclosed Water Pen. You only need a small amount of water, and simply smooth this over the top until the paper is completely damp. Keep a paper towel handy if your little one uses too much water.
Allow this to sit on the dough for a minute while lightly applying the press (it has a sponge). Then, peel the paper off. You will have a character or shape left on the dough. This can then be placed onto a stand or put directly onto the ship.
Tip: If you notice the dough is really wet, set it aside to dry. We actually left one of our dough containers open over night since my daughter totally saturated it.
The pirate’s legs are missing on this one since the transfer was not wet all the way to the end. My son did not mind though, he just mixed it back into the dough and started all over again. 🙂

You can also create shapes with a treasure chest on the front, and with the cannon. To use the cannon, simply insert dough into the back and push it through the front. The damper the dough is, the easier it goes through.
If you happen to have more than one child, I recommend picking up an extra Magic Fun Dough Accessory Pack. It comes with 4 additional colors, a variety of 25 transfers, and an extra water pen. This way the kiddos don’t have to fight over whose turn it is the use the water pen, and they have plenty of colors and transfers to choose from.
Accessory Packs retail for $3.99 and can be found at WalMart and Target.
These come in handy when you run out of transfers.
