My daughter happens to be both, so she was super excited to check out the Harry Potter Spellcasters Board Game as well as the Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game. Plus, her brothers (who are not as big of fans) saw how much fun these games were and wanted to join in.
Now just to give a little background, last year my daughter read all of the Harry Potter books and has slowly been reading the other spinoff books by J.K. Rowling. She watched the films, has a special wand, and even picked up a Gryffindor Cloak. Her fandom is so strong for Harry, Ron, and Hermione, that she dressed up as Ms. Granger for Halloween and redid her room in Harry Potter.
Needless to say she was happy to receive these Harry Potter Board Games and we really have enjoyed playing Magical Charades in the Harry Potter Spellcasters as well as flipping the Hinged Game Board in the Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game.
About Harry Potter Spellcasters
For 3-8 players, ages 6 and up, Harry Potter Spellcasters is a magical charade game that really keeps the excitement going. Each player AKA the Spellcaster draws a card that has a magical spell printed on it and then using Harry Potter’s replica wand, the Spellcaster must trace the shape of the spell in the air. The first person who guesses the correct spell gets to keep the card and then becomes the next Spellcaster. The winner is whoever collects the most spell cards!

I really liked how concentration was such a big part of this game. If you weren’t paying attention, you would completely miss out on the movement.
About Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game
Calling all Wizards and Muggles ages 8 and up, it is time to collect Magical beasts that have broken loose at Hogwarts. For 2-4 players, you can play Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, or Ginny Weasley and the goal is to collect enough clue cards to track down creatures both inside and outside Hogwarts! It requires strategy to keep your best playing cards from being stolen and gets pretty exciting as the swinging board adds new dynamic to playing a board game.

One of the most impressive parts of Harry Potter Magical Beasts Board Game is how the board flips, but it was also neat to learn about the special characteristics of the Magical Beasts in the books,
