Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft and Zoey’s Adventures!

disclosure-for-site

October 26, 2020 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 23 Comments

Thanks to Author Ilene Lieber for sending my family a copy of Zoey’s Adventures To The Ice Cream Shop. Opinions expressed are that of my own and we hope you enjoy the Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft.

Recently I was contacted by Ilene Lieber about a children’s book she had writen called Zoey’s Adventures To The Ice Cream Shop. I was intrigued by the story line because it not only featured a real life Golden Retriever named Zoey, but it looked like an overall fun book for kids.

Since we have been spending a lot of time at home due to the pandemic, my 2 younger kiddos have been reading a lot and Zoey’s Adventures To The Ice Cream Shop was something they could enjoy together.

This story is an excellent way to introduce what is involved with taking care of a pet as well as the virtue of patience. Plus, it is just entertaining to read about a pup getting excited about a trip to the Ice Cream Shop.

In addition, this book about a yummy treat got my daughter’s and my creative mind thinking and we ended up making a Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft after we finished reading the book.

Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft

If you would like to recreate this Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft with your family, here is what you will need.

White Uncoated Paper Plate

Light Brown Acrylic Paint (mix brown and yellow together)

White Acrylic Paint

Glue

Large Pom Poms

Paint Brush

Safety Scissors

Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft

Directions:

To get started with the Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft, first cut the paper plate in half. Next, take the 2 halves and fold them into a cone shape. Glue the folded pieces together to hold the form.

Then begin painting the cone shape. We didn’t have the right color, so thanks to my daughters suggestion, we added a little brown to yellow to get an ice cream cone color.

Once the paint dries, add white paint along the rim of the Paper Plate Ice Cream Cone Craft to look like melted ice cream.

It is then time to add 3 large Pom Poms to the top with glue.

After the glue is set, you have a fun decoration to hang in a child’s room or up for the next National Ice Cream Day.

About Zoey’s Adventures To The Ice Cream Shop:

Children everyone can follow along the fun-filled adventures of the adorable, lovable, quirky Golden Retriever rescue pup Zoey.  Each sweet story holds a meaningful message for both little ones and grown-ups.

The book by Ilene Lieber and illustrated by Zohreh Riyahi and Scott LaFortune shows how Zoey eagerly anticipates her visit to the Super Awesome Ice Cream Shop on National Ice Cream Day.

To purchase Zoey’s Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop for the suggested retail price of $12.99 and for more information, visit ZoeysAdventuresBooks.com and facebook.com/ZoeysAdventuresBooks.

A portion of book sales will be donated to different animal charitable organizations quarterly, starting with Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Super cool article. My daughter loves arts and crafts and stem Activities. She loves www.StemPoweredKits.com. They have a lot of cool science, technology, engineering and math learning activities. Not to mention art! All of their kits are made of wooden pieces so you can paint and decorate them. Highly recommended. Look them up
