Since we have been staying at home due to social distancing and my husband has been working from home, I am thankful to own a portable DVD player. I am also happy that I saved empty toilet paper rolls, and kept crafting supplies on hand to make a Toilet Paper Roll Crab Craft.
A special thank you goes out to Nickelodeon for sending my family a copy of Bubble Guppies The Great Guppy Games DVD to review. Opinions expressed are those of my family.
Although my daughter is 11 and my youngest is 7, I can still turn on classic kids show like Bubble Guppies to keep them distracted or entertained while my oldest son is completing school work and their Dad is working.
There is just something about this Nick Jr Series with its fun songs “Time for Lunch” and “Outside” and educational content that draws them in.
Plus the episodes on the Bubble Guppies The Great Guppy Games DVD are just in time for Summer Vacation with outdoor themes and sports.
Episode Titles Include:
- The Summer Camp Games
- The Super Ballet Bowl
- The Elephant Trunk A Dunk!
- The Glitter Games!
Who is your family’s favorite Bubble Guppies Character? Who would you gift this DVD to?
Now when I hear Bubble Guppies, I immediately think of under the sea activities and the cute creatures on the show.
After looking at the craft supplies we had on hand, I also decided to put together a Toilet Paper Roll Crab Craft for my daughter to work on.
If you would like to recreate a Toilet Paper Roll Crab with your family, details are below!
-Toilet Paper Roll
-Red Acrylic Paint
-Black Magic Marker
First press down the toilet paper roll to make it flat. Then repeat this again on the other side to create creases on 4 corners.
Next, take the safety scissors and cut a 1 to a 1 & quarter inch slit along the 4 creases on both sides of the toilet paper roll.
This will then leave a center section.
Then, fold out 2 pieces on the top and bottom and cut out the left over pieces.
This will leave two sections on the top and two on the bottom.
Next, cut 4 legs out of 2 sides, equaling 8 legs total for Toilet Paper Roll Crab and bend them into leg shapes.
Then cut the 2 top pieces into crab claws. It is then time to paint the crab shape.
Tip: I used paper towels to make cleanup easier and I also had my daughter wear an apron. FYI, the acrylic paint dries pretty fast.
Once the Toilet Paper Roll Crab is completely covered with paint and dried, the googly eyes can be added with glue. It is then finished with a Magic Marker Smile.
Bubble Guppies The Great Guppy Games DVD is available for purchase now for the suggested retails price of $10.99! I hope your family enjoys the DVD as well as the Toilet Paper Roll Crab Craft.
