My daughter and I received a media invitation to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, so I thought it would be fun to put together matching Halloween Minnie Mouse Ears.
Now this was a first time attempt at making my own Minnie Ears, however nothing ventured nothing gained so I figured why not try.
FYI, this does involve a glue gun and I earned myself a blister on my thumb, however my daughter’s smiles made it totally worth it.
Before I got started, I first paid a visit to my local Dollar Tree to check out what type of Halloween Items they had on hand.
I found Halloween Themed Floral bouquets with purple and black roses as well as clip on pumpkins. In addition, I located a set of headbands in assorted colors.
I would say in total, this cost around $3 and if you would like to recreate this Minnie Mouse Ears Craft, this is what you need.
– Batch of Purple Halloween Roses
– 2 Small Pumpkins
– Black Cloth Material Headband
– Glue Gun
– Utility Scissors
To get started, first pull apart your batch of roses, leaves, and spiders and take the left over wire and cut it away.
Turn on the glue gun so it is ready to go and then take the wire pieces and twist them together forming ear shapes.
Next, pull the pieces of plastic off of the black leaves.
Then, cut off any extra pieces of plastic from the bottom of the flowers to help them lay flat.
Next, take 3 pieces of the black leaves and use the glue gun to attach them to the headband.
Repeat this same step with 4 purple roses. Don’t be afraid use as much glue as you need.
Tip: This is definitely an adult craft, and please be careful not to burn yourself.
To finish, place the wire ears into the roses and add glue to those spots until they are firmly attached.
I then added a final touch by gluing on a spider onto one of the ears and clipping on the pumpkins.
My daughter and I received so many compliments on our Halloween Minnie Mouse Ears and were asked multiple times if we bought them or made them.
I hope this craft inspires your own set of ears, now that I have made a pair I can definitely see doing this again.
