Looking for a fun activity to keep the kiddos busy on a cold winter day or to help celebrate Valentine’s Day?
How about making heart cookies and watching Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch on Blu-ray.
We watched this film in theatres and my family thought that it was a great remake of the original film. Not only did it add a modern twist to the classic Cindy-Lou Who and her family, but it also introduced us to some new friends like a funny reindeer called Bruce and a boisterous neighbor named Bricklebaum voiced by comedian Kenan Thompson.
Between these 2 characters, The Grinch, Max, and of course Cindy-Lou Who, the story is filled with hilarious as well as heart warming moments.

Ingredients:
Sugar Cookie Mix with required ingredients.
Conversation Hearts
Green Food Coloring
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter or Cutters
Simply prepare your cookie mix according to the packaging for cut-outs, and before you mix in the melted butter stir in 18 drops of green food coloring.
Then, use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes and bake according to the package.
In between batches, I suggest putting leftover dough in the fridge for a couple minutes to make it easier to work with.
Once baked, I immediately placed a conversation heart in the center of the cookie with the worlds down and moved them to a spot to cool.
The Grinch Heart Cookies are then ready for a Dr. Seuss party, Valentine’s Day activity, or even a Grinch Gathering around the Christmas Holidays.
FYI, this recipe can easily be altered to be a different color heart as well for many occasions.
