Game Day Food! Pulled Pork Cornbread Open Faced Sandwiches With Honey Mustard Sauce!

disclosure-for-site

November 17, 2018 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 48 Comments

The following is a sponsored post by Krusteaz, opinions expressed as well as Pulled Pork Cornbread Open Faced Sandwiches with Honey Mustard Sauce are that of my own.

When I think football food, I picture meats, sandwiches, chips, and easy to make snacks.

So when recipes come to mind for a game day, I look to using my slow cooker, ready to cook foods, and flavorful sauces.

If you are looking to simplify your preparation, then Krusteaz Cornbread mix falls right in line with this idea.

Not only is cornbread awesome alone, but it is a great substitute for traditional sliders or open faced sandwiches.

Because of this, I decided to make the Krusteaz NEW Fire Roasted Cornbread and Honey Cornbread Muffins and top them with pulled pork.

Between utilizing my slow cooker, making Cornbread in advance, and using on hand ingredients, I kept my preparation to a minimum.

Not to mention, I dressed up my table with EASY DIY Football Party Centerpieces as well as located cute football picks at the party store to add to the muffins.

Wanting to make your own Pulled Pork Cornbread Open Faced Sandwiches With Honey Mustard Sauce? Details below!

To get started you will need the following:

1 Pork Tenderloin (I used a Steakhouse Mushroom Flavor, 1.7 pounds, my favorite)

1 Cup of Chicken Broth

Krusteaz NEW Fire Roasted Cornbread and Honey Cornbread Muffins (Makes 20-24)

Combine Homemade Honey Mustard Sauce Ingredients and refrigerate until ready to serve.

8 Tsp of Honey

4 Tsp of Yellow Mustard

2 Tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar

Pulled Pork Cornbread Open Faced Sandwiches Directions:

Cook the Pork Tenderloin in a cup of Chicken Broth in the slow cooker for 3 hours on High and then shred the pork and allow to cook on low for another 2 hours. Next move the slow cooker to the warm setting until ready to serve.

Then, prepare the Krusteaz Cornbread Muffins according to the packaging and place into muffin pans. I used baking cups to make serving easier.

Serve the pulled pork over the muffins and either drizzle the Honey Mustard or use your favorite BBQ sauce. Tip: Extra muffins are recommended, since the kiddos kept going back for more.

What types of Game Day foods do you prepare? What other Krusteaz products have you tried?

Be sure to look for Krusteaz NEW Fire Roasted Cornbread and Honey Cornbread in your local grocers Baking Aisle.

Hope you also enjoy these Pulled Pork Cornbread Open Faced Sandwiches and they make your next game day easier!

For game day foods, we tend to go with finger foods. It can be hard to concentrate on the game and eat simultaneously, so things like taquitos and cheese sticks are great. If you don't really care about the game, all bets are off!!

My husband just like to eat chips (tortilla chips or Doritos) while watching games (just watches on tv) as for other mixes I've used, right now, I have the following in my pantry: Pumpkin Spice Pancake, Banana Nut Muffin, Pumpkin Spice Cookie, Honey Cornbread & Muffin, Myer Lemon Bar. Yes, we like Krusteaz mixes.
