Based on the past, I typically only decorate my home for certain Holidays like Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Otherwise, I will just put up my kiddos artwork from school or add a decorative wreath to front door to celebrate the day.
However this year I wanted to add a little festive decor by making an Easy Valentine’s Day Banner Created With Foam!
This was pretty simple to do since I used many supplies that I already had on hand. If you would like to recreate this craft, you will need the following:
-12 in x 18 in Sheet of Red Foam
-Red Parachute Cord
-Scissors
-Foam Heart
-5 Plain Clothes Pins
-Tape or Tacks
-Pencil
-Ruler
FYI, I found my foam supplies and Red Parachute Cord at Michaels.
Directions:
To create the letters, I used a ruler and traced out 5 inch tall shapes with a pencil. I then cut the L ,V, and E out.
There was no need to do this for the O since it would be represented by a heart. (I used a premade heart that was around 5 inches tall. It came from a Creatology set, however you could cut this out of pink foam with a template).
From there, I measured out and cut around 32 inches of the parachute cord. Tip: If your parachute cord is frayed at the ends, use a lighter to seal it off. This is only for adults to do and please use caution.
I then spaced and attached the letters to the parachute cord. To do this, I used regular clothes pins from a previous craft.
To finish, I hung the Valentine’s Day Banner with standard tape as to not put holes in my wall. However, you could use tacks to attach it as well.
Do you make banners for Holidays or Events? What are some of the themes you have created?
I hope you enjoy this Valentine’s Day Banner and Happy Sweetheart’s Day!
