Laundry Shower Gift Idea With Baby Essentials

Both my sister and a friend were having showers, and I wanted to give them a unique homemade baby item. If you are looking for a creative way to gift a Baby Shower present, check out this fun Baby Shower Gift Idea in a Laundry Basket that I created.

So to get started, I picked up baskets (I made one for a boy and a girl), tissue paper, clothes pins, and twine at a Dollar Store. I also stopped by a retail store and picked up some adorable baby clothes.

Laundry Shower Gift Idea With Baby Essentials

Since I am a Mommy Ambassador, Nuby graciously provided me with New Baby Essentials like Non-Drip Bottles, a Medical Care Kit, 3 Stage Teether Set with All Natural Wipes, Floppers Teether Toy, Easy Clean Soap Dispensing Bottle Brush, and a Comb and Brush Set to help complete the basket.

Check out these fun Pamper Pack Gift Bags that would be great to send home with guests at a Baby Shower!

Laundry Shower Gift Idea With Baby Essentials

To make the gift, I first filled the basket with tissue paper and then added a few of the Nuby items. Looking for other ideas for an upcoming Baby Shower? Check out these items from Nuby: Baby Gift Ideas.

Then, I tied one end of the twine to the Floppers Teether Toy.

From there I started clipping the clothes onto the twine with the clothes pins.

I kept doing this until I ran out of clothes.

Next, I cut the twine off at the end, and tied it to the All Natural Wipes.

FYI, when the gift is opened the items are pulled out and displayed on the twine like a clothes line.

Once I finished clipping everything on, I then laid the clothes carefully into the basket and left the teether toy on top.

After this, I added additional tissue paper to cover it up, and placed the flower on the outside of the basket.

I happened to already have this artificial bendable flower and a pinwheel, but I’m sure they carry something like this at Dollar Store or Michaels.

Laundry Shower Gift Idea With Baby Essentials

Have you made a similar gift before?  What “essentials” would you place in a new baby gift basket?

At the showers it was so neat watching the Expectant Moms pull the clothes out of the basket. You could tell it was a welcomed surprise.

I've done bath time baskets or sleepy time baskets. Bath time basket includes soaps rags towels bath toys and such... Sleepy time has bedtime lotions blankets swaddlers and such. Would love this for my upcoming baby due in march!

I have made similar baskets for women at church, friends, and family. I always add a small package of newborn diapers, wipes, washcloths, baby bibs, bottles {if they use them}, spare nipples {if they use bottles}, and then I add a sleep mask, a soothing sounds CD, and any other odds and ends I can find.

My son is having a boy on Valentine's Day!! My first grandchild! This would be a fantastic gift, especially because they are just starting out.
