Florida-Shrimp

As a busy parent, I am always looking for short cuts or easy recipes to get dinner ready for my family. One of the easiest dishes to prepare is something that has Shrimp as the main ingredient, just like this Sautéed Shrimp and Green Beans!

When Fresh From Florida asked me to check out their delicious recipes for Fresh Florida Shrimp, I was extremely interested and intrigued. I like to be creative with my meals and was excited by the potential of finding additional “Easy to Make” dishes. I’m happy to report that I didn’t have to look to hard to find them at the page.

I also live near a fishing village called Cortez here in Florida, so I am very aware of the quality of Seafood that comes from our state. Any opportunity to incorporate more of it into our diets is fine by me. It is awesome when you can support the local community, and use the product harvested from the area.  I am a BIG fan of the Cortez Fried Mullet!

As I checked out the Fresh From Florida recipe section, I saw many dishes that I definitely want to try. There was the Baked Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp and Sweet Pepper Stir Fry with Honey-Citrus Glaze, and the Barbecued Shrimp. However, the recipe that is at the top of my list to try next is the Sautéed Shrimp and Green Beans.

Sautéed Shrimp and Green Beans – Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups green beans, cleaned
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup almonds, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Directions:

  1. Cook shrimp in half the olive oil, set aside.
  2. Heat remaining oil and sauté beans and mushrooms until beans are tender.
  3. Add almonds and soy sauce.

6 ingredients and made in a skillet, sounds simple enough to me!

I haven't tried fresh Florida shrimp... But I have tried fresh fish in Florida - and it is way better than what I have tried back home. I bet my hubby would love this meal.
