Cadbury Ice Cream Bar Trifle

Recently I was selected to host a Cadbury ‘High Tea’ Mother Daughter Event through MommyParties, and I was sent free boxes of Cadbury Ice Cream Bars made with Blue Bunny Ice Cream to share with my friends and their little girls.

MommyParties provided me with some suggestions of recipes to make for the party using the ice cream bars, but as usual I decided to put my own spin on the creation.

Ingredients for Ice Cream Trifle

I ended up creating a 7 Layer Pretzel and Toffee Ice Cream Dessert in a Trifle Bowl.  It was AWESOME!!!

If you want to recreate it, here is what you will need:

– 1 Box of Cadbury English Toffee Ice Cream Bars 8 count

– Whipped cream

– 1 Cup of Ground Pretzel Sticks

– 1 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips

– Trifle Bowl

This is how I did it:

I first broke apart the Cadbury English Toffee Bars into pieces and put them at the bottom of the Trifle Bowl. (I bought my bowl at Wal-Mart for around 7 dollars.)

I then took a 1/2 cup of ground pretzels and spread that on top next.

Tip: Grind the pretzels in advance.  I used a nut grinder, you could also use a food processor to do this.

Next, I sprayed a complete layer of whipped cream on top of that. Then I added (1/2 cup) layer of chocolate chips.

***I repeated the pretzels, the whipped cream, and the chocolate chips and this created the 7 layers in total. ***

I presented it to my guests, and then served it immediately. It was pretty, and a little salty and A LOT sweet.

This combination of ingredients in a dessert is SO GOOD and I received so many compliments.

Do you make anything like this in a trifle bowl? What ingredients do you use?

If you try it out, let me know what you think!

That look so good, I am all about the salty sweet. I have to get myself a trifle bowl so I can make this.

I really like salty sweet combos so I would love this. I make something similar to this with vanilla ice cream, oreos and stuff. :) Yum.
