I was given an opportunity to review Custom Knobs created by a company called Ghost Nest.
At Ghost Nest you can create you own unique knobs through an application called the “Dreamerator”. You choose your knob, upload your photo, and then create a knob that is specifically for you.
I thought this was a neat concept, because you can put a personal touch on furniture and other items in your home. You can use family photos, artwork, and text. Keep in mind however, you can not use photos that are copyrighted.
The knobs created by Ghost Nest have been used in various ways around the home such as jewelry holders, coat racks, and more. For additional ideas check out Ghost Nest’s Flickr Page.
At Ghost Nest, there is a database of designs that have already been created by artists, so I decided to choose one of the existing designs, and I customized the shape of my knobs. I picked out a few for my bathroom, and I also requested two for my kid’s bedroom. Since the kids share a room, I choose a Robot for my son, and a Butterfly for my daughter. I put the knobs on their sides of the closet.
My kids were excited of course to have their own special knobs, and my daughter enjoyed hanging her coat up over and over again on hers.
About the Owner of Ghost Nest:
Reid Evans, a young and pioneering entrepreneur living in San Francisco, is the founder and CEO of Ghost Nest. He has an avid appreciation for the arts, and highly encourages people to express their creativity.
Ghost Nest was born out of an idea Reid had while visiting London after being inspired by seeing an ironworker and glass blower making gorgeous home hardware. Once Reid got back to San Francisco he was busy building home hardware prototypes out of his laundry room. After sharing the prototypes with friends and family, everyone quickly asked to have their own custom knob. That’s when he came up with the idea of allowing people to customize his products, truly allowing them to empower their own creativity. Source, Ghost Nest
