Have you been to your local library lately to see what they have in stock? Well for the very low cost of nothing, you can check out Books, DVDs and Videos.*
Recently, a friend of mine checked out the movie “Fireproof” from the library and invited me over to watch it,(it was a great movie by the way) and it was free. Most libraries will also have an assortment of children’s DVDs and Videos.
The library is a great place to take your kids to get out of the summer heat (a good friend mentioned), rainy days, and the winter freeze. Plus, if they are old enough, you can get them their own card and teach them the responsibility of taking care the card, the books that they check out, and the importance of returning things that they borrow. You can also teach them the value of money, especially if they fail to turn their books back in time.
Some libraries will have Children’s Story-times weekly and other programs for adults. Make sure you call ahead to find out what types of items and programs they have available and their policies.

*Just make sure you turn the items in by their due dates, otherwise they won’t be free anymore.
