Lately, I have gotten tired of making the same old thing for dinner. I decided to broaden my horizons recently, and have been trying different things out. Yesterday, I tried my hand at Pulled Pork in the Crock Pot, and it turned out delicious. My mother actually told me how to get it started, and I took it the rest of the way.
Here are the ingredients I needed for Crock Pot Pulled Pork:
1 Always Tender Hormel Pork Tenderloin Onion Flavor
11/2 Cups of Water
1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
6 tbsp of BBQ Sauce, (I happen to have a free sample of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce on hand).
Optional : 3 tbsp of Sugar (FYI, taste it before you add the sugar sweetness varies with brand of barbecue sauce.)
First I dissolved 1 Bouillon Cube in 11/2 Cups of Water and placed a defrosted Pork Tenderloin in the mixture. I cooked it on the high setting for 6 hours in the Crock Pot. (I started it about 10 am.)
After 6 hours, I pulled the pork apart right in the crock pot and let it absorb the juices for an hour on the warm setting. Right before I served it, I added 6 tablespoons of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce and 3 Tablespoons of Sugar and mixed it all together.
I like slider buns, so I picked them up Buy One Get One Free at Publix and topped my pulled pork with my new favorite Cole Slaw Recipe. CLICK HERE–>Creole Mustard Cole Slaw.
This dish was so easy to prepare and since Monday is one of our busier days, having a meal that basically prepares itself saves on time.
Hope you enjoy it as well!
