The following Paper Plate Dinosaur Craft is sponsored by Gigantosaurus and opinions expressed are that of my own.

Are you in search of a Television Series for a young child who appreciates a funny story line or happens to love dinosaurs?

If so, I am excited to share with you a new adorable series called Gigantosaurus on Disney Channel.

Debuting this Friday January 18th during the Disney Junior programming slot, this series features 4 adorable Dino friends that problem solve and explore their surroundings. Plus, they take an interest in an intimidating Gigantosaurus.

FYI, my younger kiddos really liked watching this show and thought the main characters Mazu, Tiny, Bill, and Rocky were a lot of fun.

We all enjoyed watching an advanced screening of these new adventures and we were then inspired to make colorful Paper Plate Dinosaurs. See how fun it was for both my 6 year old and 10 year old to create this craft!

What you will need to make a Paper Plate Dinosaur Craft:

  • White Paper Plates
  • Acrylic Paints (Horizon Group Paints I had on hand, worked out great)
  • Safety Scissors
  • Paint brushes
  • Small Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • Pencil

Directions:

First fold the paper plate in half and cut this into 2 pieces with your scissors.

Next, cut the body of a Stegosaurus or Apatosaurus out of the half of the paper plate.

FYI, I initially free styled my dinosaur shapes with the scissors and then used those as templates to trace out additional dinosaurs with a pencil.

I then folded the legs in opposite directions so the dinosaurs could stand.

For the Stegosaurus, we cut short legs and armor along the top as for the Apatosaurus, we cut out long legs.

The completed dinosaurs where then handed over to the kiddos to paint and glue on googly eyes.

Tip: For less mess, have your child wear an apron and place a plastic table cloth or newspaper on surfaces they are painting on.

My children painted one side first and allowed it to dry and then repeated this step on the other side.

Once completely dried, this Paper Plate Dinosaur Craft is ready to help your child’s imagination ROAR while they watch Gigantosaurus !

About Gigantosaurus:

Based on Jonny Duddle’s bestselling book of the same name, the series stars four fiercely-fun dinosaur friends who will take preschoolers on exciting, comedy-filled adventures as they dare to be themselves and explore the world beyond their nests.

Every imagination-inspiring episode follows the group on a quest, as they face their individual fears and work together to solve a problem.

As the inquisitive Mazu, playful Tiny, timid Bill, and courageous Rocky aim to learn more about Gigantosaurus, they discover they each have something to learn from him, too!

To learn more about Gigantosaurus look for it on
Disney Channel during the Disney Junior time slot or visit Facebook at facebook.com/gigantosaurustv and Instagram at instagram.com/gigantosaurustv.

I hope your family enjoys watching Gigantosaurus and has a great time recreating this Paper Plate Dinosaur Craft.
