The new installment of Jurassic Park called JURASSIC WORLD will be hitting theaters this Friday June 12.
Now hubby and I are definitely looking forward to seeing this film, however since it is PG-13 none of my kiddos will be attending with us.
That doesn’t mean that they should miss out on enjoying the fun and sharing the love that they have for dinosaurs.
Now the film does center around the development of a new species of dinosaur called an Indominus Rex, so I thought it would be fun for the kiddos to create their own new kind of dinosaur via a mock fossil dig and easy children’s craft.

To create our Dinosaur Bones Craft I first picked up a package of cotton swabs, grabbed pieces of brown construction paper, safety scissors, and a bottle of glue.
I then let them decide what kind of dinosaur bones they wanted to put together by cutting the cotton swabs. Both my 6 and 9 year olds enjoyed using their imagination and playing around with the designs.
Of course the best part was coming up with a name for their discovery. My daughter named hers (appropriately as) the Foot and Neck Dinosaur and my son called his the Longneckasaurus.
I think they are pretty proud of their creations.
