If you are looking for a fun way to watch the new KUNG FU PANDA 3 Awesome Edition on Blu-ray and DVD, let me suggest a Movie Night In along side a Chinese Dinner.
I actually did this very thing with my family recently, and it made for a YUMMY and entertaining evening.
Now thanks to an AWESOME kit from Fox Home Ent Insiders and a little creativity on MOM’S part, we ate a hearty Chinese Dinner and were laughing via FUN entertainment.
As for our menu, we had Pork Pot Stickers AKA Dumplings, Chinese Orange Chicken with White Rice, Egg Drop Soup, and for dessert I created Apple Pie Pot Stickers.
We all enjoyed our movie themed cups, toys, and the kiddos especially got into using chop sticks.
Having “Take Out” at home, and of course hanging out with PO is always a neat combination!
If you would like to recreate the Apple Pie Pot Stickers, details are below. (Makes 8-9)
Ingredients:
Ready To Bake Pie Crust (These did not have raw egg)
Apple Pie Filing
Powered Sugar
Olive Oil
Directions:
First roll out the ready made pie crust and use a large mouth coffee cup to cut out circles. Take any leftover pieces, press back together, flatten, and continue to do so until it is all used.
Next, take 2 tablespoons of apple pie filing and place in the middle of the circle. FYI, you may need to chop the apples into smaller pieces. Then, pinch the circle into a shape of a dumpling.
Finally, put 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a frying pan and heat on medium. Once warmed up, add the Apple Pie Pot Stickers and brown on all sides. This should take around 5 minutes.
Once you remove them from the stove, place on a plate, and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Be sure to check the temperature inside before serving children.
Now, just to give you a bit of a refresher about Kung Fu Panda 3, when Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters.
