Creating Chinese Inspired Beef With Broccoli Recipe! Simple Way To Make ‘Take Out’ At Home!
I get bored with eating the same old thing all the time, so I try to add in variety for dinner.
Recently I purchased some frozen egg rolls Buy One Get One Free at Publix and thought, “A Beef with Broccoli recipe would go well with this”. I have made a few versions with varied pieces of meat in the past, but I think I have finally found the cut that I like best.
This is what I used for my Chinese Beef With Broccoli recipe:
1/2 pound of Thin Sliced Top Round Steak cut into small pieces
4 cups of Frozen Broccoli
2 Tbsp of Soy Sauce (I used the less sodium version)
2 Tsp of Sugar
1 Tbsp of Olive Oil
2 Tsp of Flour
1/4 Tsp of Onion Powder
This is how I did it:
First, I put a Tbsp of Olive Oil in a pan on medium heat, and then added the cut Steak. Then I added 2 Tbsps of Soy Sauce, 1/4 Tsp of Onion Powder, and 2 Tsp of Sugar cooking the beef completely through for 5-10 minutes (as always, follow the USDA Guidelines for Cooked Meat). I then put my rice onto cook.
After this, I added the 4 cups of Frozen Broccoli, stirred this in, covered with a lid, and simmered on medium low for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally. Then I sprinkled 2 Tsp of Flour on top of this, and stirred until completely mixed in. I covered this for a few more minutes on medium low until it thickened, and moved it to a low heat setting until it was ready to serve.
This recipe was that easy to prepare, and my kids and hubby devoured it! I get so excited when I am able to create something that is just as yummy as take out.
