A special thank you goes out to Piggy Paint and Jet Setter Sleep Masks for sending samples helping to facilitate our At Home Spa. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

In the midst of social distancing, my biggest challenge has been to entertain my 3 kids all while being stuck at home.
We have been working on craft projects, baking together, and even participating in a virtual camp and reading activities.

As a Mom, I have been taking care of myself by trying new recipes, exercising, and working on my garden beds.
Not only has this helped keep my spirits up, but it has also distracted me from all of scary and unknown that caused by the pandemic.

Just as I have kept my own well being in mind, I am attempting to do the same for each of my kids.
While keeping safety in mind, we are still trying to have some sort of normalcy in the current environment.

As parents, my husband and I have let them play their favorite video games, encouraged outdoor exercise, and allowed them chat online with friends.
One activity that I have been meaning to do with my daughter during this time is an At Home Spa. Of course my boys have always been welcome to join, but it is definitely something she likes to do.

When she was little we used to light candles, get out a Foot Spa, put on Bath Robes, and give ourselves Pedicures. Not only was this a great way to bond, but it was also an opportunity to relax and paint our nails.
I decided to finally make this happen again and this go round, we added in the options of non toxic and water based Scented and Nonscented Piggy Paint as well as SOPHi Nail Products with no harsh chemicals, and Jet Setter Sleep Masks, my daughter’s doll even joined us.

Looking to host your own At Home Spa for Family Bonding? Here are my tips:
Set up a Spa Area –
Have a table to set up your supplies and equipment as well as a chair for your family member to sit on.

Clean Towels and Robes –
To keep the area clean, have towels or put down a mat for any water that drips and to dry off everyone’s feet. For that authentic Spa feel have family members wear robes or comfortable PJs.
Start with a clean slate –
Trim or file nails and remove any finger nail polish with Acetone Free SOPHi Nail Polish Stripper.

Set up a Foot Spa –
Even if you don’t have a Foot Spa, just have your kids soak their feet in a warm tub first.
Create a Homemade Scrub –
I make one with Vanilla and Sugar. You can find many options just by searching homemade foot scrubs online and you can also use a Foot Mask.

Put on the final touches-
Once you rinse and dry off hands or feet, rub in lotion, and paint your nails. My daughter and I really liked the SOPHi Polish in Mi Amore and used the Prime and Shine Seal System for Chip Resistance. FYI, don’t forget to put on flip flops to preserve the paint.
To finish the At Home Spa –
Lay back in a quiet room with soft music, have a candle or an essential oil diffuser running with lavender, and relax with a Warming Mask on.

We had a great family at home spa day and I hope you enjoy yours as well!
