Are you looking for a fun recipe to use at an upcoming holiday event? How about a YUMMY sugar cookie that your family can enjoy decorating and eating?

I have made Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies a couple times and let me just say that all of the toppings create a cute dessert as well as delicious treat.

Pillsbury Purely Simple at Publix

To make my recent batch, I first visited my local Publix to pick up a few ingredients including Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™Sugar Cookie Mix as well as Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ Buttercream Frosting Mix.

I had most of the other items needed to make my Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies, but I also grabbed a bag of pretzels as well as butter and eggs.

How to make Melting Snowman Cookies with Pillsbury Purely Simple

I planned on putting these cookies together over the weekend, and thankfully I only needed a few things since the Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ products only require minimal additions.

Preparing these mixes was simple, and I started with making the Sugar Cookie Dough. First I preheated the oven and followed the directions right off the box.

I then scooped heaping teaspoons full of dough and rolled them into balls. From there, I placed them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

They were baked according to the box and then allowed to cool. Then, I was able to quickly whip up the icing. With just butter and water, I made butter cream frosting and started decorating my cookies.

Assembling the Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies

If you would like to recreate these Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies all you need is:

  • Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ Butter Cream Frosting Mix
  • Marshmallows
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Black and Orange Squeezable Decorating Icing

Directions:

Prepare the cookies and the icing first. Then put your Melting Snowman Sugar Cookies together. For the eyes and mouth dot the black icing, for the nose dot the orange. Tip: Break your pretzels in half to look like branches, and spread your chocolate chips (AKA buttons) around.

If you want to mix up the kind of cookies you are making this holiday, consider topping a few of the cookies with crushed stripy sweets. The Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ Butter Cream Frosting Mix is an excellent complement to the peppermint.
