My husband’s family is Italian which means that we eat traditional foods around the holidays. My mother-in-law makes fabulous cookies and my sister-in-law creates an awesome seafood filled Christmas Eve.
Of course these occasions are an excellent time to visit with family and an opportunity to Send A Little Love™ to one another. I will be doing exactly that this year, by helping out with the preparations as well as bringing along an appetizer.
However before I could bring over a new recipe idea, I first wanted practice and I had a taste for a Prosciutto and Cranberry Crackers Appetizer. Of course in order to master it, I would need to pick up a few ingredients from my neighborhood Publix.
While shopping, I visited the deli area to have a half pound of Prosciutto thinly sliced and then located Publix Brand Whipped Cream Cheese over in the dairy section. While walking near the cleaning supplies area, I saw a display of Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection seasonal scents.
Fragrances can trigger thoughts of the holidays, and this collection has traditional as well as a couple trendier varieties. What caught my eye was the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection Send A Little Love™ because Vanilla Biscotti dessert happens to be one of our family’s favorite Italian cookies.
I placed a couple candles, PlugIns®, as well as the room spray into my cart. FYI there was also a coupon on the display that I used at check out.
To get into the spirit of the season, I decided to use the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection PlugIns® Scented Oil and try out the Room Spray. Immediately a wonderful fragrance filled my home and I was ready to start practicing my recipe.
Let’s just say that it was a success, since it was easy to create, festive in color, and of course wonderful in flavor. If you would like to recreate it, the ingredients and instructions are below.
Prosciutto and Cranberry Crackers
Makes 28 Crackers
Ingredients
7-8 Slices of Thinly Sliced Prosciutto
1 container of Whipped Cream Cheese
1/2 Can of Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 Package of Water Crackers
A bunch of Green Onions (1/2 Cup Chopped)
Directions:
First, slice the Prosciutto into fourths. Then take the jellied cranberry sauce and turn into a puree consistency. Next chop the onions into small pieces.
Finally, create the crackers by first spreading a thin layer of cream cheese, then rolling the 4th of Prosciutto and placing it down on the cheese. Next, add a dab of cranberry (1/2 teaspoon) and finish with 2-3 pieces of onion.
