“As a member of the LeapFrog Mom Squad Ambassador program, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see it. However, any opinions expressed by me about The LeapFrog Word Whammer are honest and reflect my actual experience.”
Both my older children have already learned the basics of letters, sounds, and reading, however when I was teaching them these elements of the English language, the LeapFrog Word Whammer would have really come in handy.
My almost 7 year old, who was happy to demonstrate how it works, has already become a wiz at playing the games on this toy.
Now I also have a preschooler in my home, so I am really excited about using this device in the future to reinforce what I am teaching to prepare him for school.
The LeapFrog Word Whammer is setup with 3 characters that are making their way to a Carnival Parade. Every time a player levels up on a game they get tickets to purchase fun items for Panda, Penguin, or Dragon.
Games include matching upper and lower case letters (it sounds out the letters), creating words, and encouraging hand eye coordination.
This product is intended for children ages 4-6.
Even though my daughter is a high level reader for her age, she still enjoys playing, winning, and picking out fun prizes for her characters. She especially likes adding a wig to the penguin, and we both got a good laugh out of it.
