Spinach Salad Flower! A Creative Way to Get The Kids To Eat Vegetables!

Spinach Flower Salad Fun For the Family

If you are looking for a fun way to feed the kids salad, or even want to dress it up for yourself, here is an easy idea!

I picked up fresh bagged spinach on sale at Publix a week or so ago (buy one get one free) and have been looking for creative ways to use it.  I asked my daughter if she would like a “Spinach Flower” for lunch and her response was “YES!”. I in turn raided my fridge for what I had on hand, and assembled one for her.

Spinach Salad

Here is what I used:

Spinach leaves

Cucumber

Strawberries

Olives

Carrots

Spinach Flower

What is nice about this is, you can pretty much use whatever you have to create it!

I simply sliced each part to the desired width and layered.  It was that easy, and it was fun seeing it become a flower.

My daughter ate it all (with a side of Ranch) and told her Dad all about it. Did I mention this is healthy?

I think this would also be perfect for a side dish for guests or even for a tea party.

So do you play with your food?  Any special way that you arrange veggies to make them fun?

If you make this for your family let me know how it goes!

This looks so cute. I am so thankful that I don't have to beg my kids to eat veggies or fruits. In fact my 2.5 year old likes salad.

That's such a cute idea! Though honestly, I don't think my kids would eat the spinach leaves even designed as a pretty flower. But my kids are horribly picky. I would love for you to come decorate my food :)

WHat a cute idea! My kids love when I chop up veggies and random foods and put them in a cupcake pan for lunch, they think its really cool and eat way more than normal when I do it!
