Easy Italian Sausage With Tomatoes Recipe! Quick To Prepare and Delicious!

If you are looking for something easy and delicious to prepare for dinner during the week, check out this Italian Sausage and Tomatoes dish I made.

I happen to pick up Johnsonville Italian Sausage in the freezer section during a Buy One Get One FREE sale at Publix and wanted to make this a different way other than serving it on a roll.  I saw it served over pasta on the package and thought, I’ll add some tomatoes and serve it over rice.

Italian Sausage with Tomatoes

To create this dish, all I needed was a Package of Italian Sausage, a Can of Plain Diced Tomatoes, and Regular Long Grain Rice.

This is how I did it:

First thing, put the rice on to cook.  (I made enough for 4 servings)

Then, simply cut the sausage into pieces.  Then brown the sausage in a pan over medium to medium high heat until it is cooked through. Follow the instructions on the packaging for proper cooking and temperatures.

Add the tomatoes to the pan, while still on medium heat, stir, and cover for about 5 to 10 minutes until heated through.  Then move to a low setting, stirring occasionally until you are ready to serve.

I poured the Italian Sausage and Tomatoes over the Rice and paired it with Green Beans. That is all it takes!  No need to add spices.  It is so simple and quick to prepare, and now I have a new dish that my family loves.

Do you make something like this for your family?  If you try it, let me know what you think.

My husband absolutely loves Italian Sausage so he would salivate over this dish. It seems easy enough to prepare so I will definitely have to try this recipe.

I make this dish often, but I add a package of frozen peppers and onions. Delicious and simple!
