Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli Recipe! Easy to Prepare with Boxed Macaroni and Cheese.

I wanted to make something different the other night for dinner, and I had recalled getting a Baked Macaroni and Cheese dish after the birth of my daughter. I had a bunch of Macaroni and Cheese boxes that I had picked up on sale, and decided I was craving that.   However, the baked macaroni was meant really to be a side and I wanted a casserole type dish that was all in one.

So, I decided to come up with my own version of Baked Macaroni and Cheese that could be used as a meal or a side.

Here is what you need for Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli:

1 –  7.5 oz Box of your favorite Macaroni and Cheese Brand (prepare as usual with milk and margarine)

3 tbsps Italian Bread Cups

2 cups of Frozen Brocolli

1 Egg

This is how I did it:

First, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Second, prepare your favorite Macaroni and Cheese Brand as usual (I followed the lighter version directions).

Then, add 1 egg, 2 tbsps of Italian Bread Crumbs, and 2 cups of Frozen Broccoli, combine all of these.

Pour the mixture in a small casserole dish (mine was a 1 1/2 Quart).

Sprinkle the top with 1 tbsp of Italian Bread Crumbs and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.  Before serving, make sure the dish is cook through to ensure proper egg handling, a temperature of 160°F.

This recipe serves around 3-4. The kids loved it and we had no leftovers. My husband said to definitely make it again and to double the recipe the next time.

I might even try to add some cooked bacon or cooked ham next time for some variety.

If you try it, let me know what you think!
