Review and Giveaway of Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves!

disclosure-for-site

February 9, 2011 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 2 Comments

I was sent a package of Hamburger Bun Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves to use and review here on At Home Moma.

Roundabouts were created by a busy mom of two. Using toppings easily found at a grocery or local party supply store, the decorative self-adhesive cupcake wrappers instantly transform cupcakes into popcorn tubs, gumball machine, sushi, and ice cream cones. The wraps are resistant to grease an oily substance, are earth friendly, and wipe clean if things get a bit messy in the kitchen! Customers have even benn known to wash and re-use them, adhering a second time with a dab of frosting.

Roundabouts come in 70+ Designs/Themes and can be personalized, customized. The company has been featured in Rachel Ray Magazine, and is a proud winner of the Most Innovative Exhibitor Award at the 2010 July CA Gift Show in Los Angeles.

I am always thrilled when I am sent items that we as a family can try out together. So, I decided to make cupcakes with the kids for the Superbowl, and what would be more perfect for a Superbowl party? Hamburger Cupcakes!

The package came with instructions on how to use the sleeves, and design instructions on how to tint the icing and to finish decorating with sesame seeds.

First, we made the cupcakes…

Preparing to make the cupcakes.

Waiting for the cupcakes.

I let them cool

Second, I used food coloring in the icing, iced the cupcakes, and put them in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes…

My frosting didn’t turn out exactly the color I wanted, but you could still tell that it is a Hamburger…

I then took them out of the fridge, wrapped them with the Cupcake Sleeves, and had my son sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Ultimately we had a great time doing this as a family, and everyone enjoyed eating the cupcakes after we were finished. Ofcourse everyone at the party thought it was neat that the cupcakes looked like Hamburgers.

I have tried 14 thousand times to follow you on Google Friend Connect for an extra entry, but each time I try it says it is unable to handle my request at this time. I am a cake decorator and would LOVE to try these Roundabouts! Would you believe I have never even heard of them?! I decided since I couldn't follow you on GFC I would just follow your blog :) Since I don't Twitter, I'm hoping the Random.org elves like me LOL!
