Review and Giveaway – Massage – Shea Daignault, LMT

Back in June at one of my mom’s group activities, I had won a free 30 minute massage from Shea Daignault, LMT, at Stepping Stone Clinic in Lakewood Ranch Florida.  I finally decided to redeem my certificate this past Tuesday, and upgraded it for $25 to an hour massage.  I figured that since I had child care for the afternoon, I might as well take advantage of the free time and treat myself to the hour.

I was so glad that I did.

When I entered the Stepping Stone Clinic, I immediately noticed that I was entering a calm space.  The decor has an Asian Flare, and the walls are painted in a soothing green.  The environment is clean and tidy and soft music is playing in the background.

Shea greeted me right when I came in the door with a warm and welcoming smile, we chatted for a bit, and then she had me fill out a little paperwork. Then, she lead me to the room I would be having the massage in.  She directed me where to hang my clothes, so they would not wrinkle, and she gave me instruction how to position myself on the table.

Before we began, she asked me to tell her if she was massaging to soft or to hard so she could adjust accordingly.  There was no need to make any changes, because the massage was just right.  She had me lay on my stomach first and then had me flip once she was finished with the one side.  I was so relaxed, that I think I feel asleep at one point.  Personally one of the highlights was her technique for massaging hands. In previous massages,  I had never had anyone do that before.   Apparently I have a lot of stress in my hands and it felt great.

When the hour was up, I really didn’t want to get off the massage table I was so relaxed.

Here is a little about Shea Daignault, LMT.

Shea is a Licensed Massage Therapist who Specializes in Active Isolated Stretching.  In addition to massages, she also teaches stretch classes in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota, Florida through her company Stretch for Health.

She is also studying under the world renowned kinesiologist, Aaron Mattes, where she discovered the art of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). This technique has well known benefits for a wide range of individuals and ailments, from professional athletes with muscle injuries to stroke victims with partial loss of motor function. Active Isolated Stretching has also shown to have tremendous benefits for anyone wishing to increase muscles tone and functionality, or just to improve range of motion and overall wellness.
