Thanks to Comfort Zone, I was sent a 3 month supply of their Dog Pheromone Therapy product to review here on Frugal and Fun Mom.
The dog pheromone called DAP, is supposed to mimic a nursing mother’s appeasing pheromones which reassure puppies that they are safe and secure. According to Comfort Zone, this therapy should help to provide a comfortable stress-free environment for yours dogs. And since stressful situations can lead to excessive chewing, house soiling, and hyperactivity, this therapy should help control these behaviors.
The product is released into the home by a wall plugin diffuser. Refills should be replaced every 30 days, and replacement cartridges can be purchased separately. According to representative at Comfort Zone, the user needs to give the product at least a month to start working. Comfort Zone products come in a spray form as well, and are also available for cats.
I have two Boxers named Dallas and Daisy that are pretty high strung. They are older dogs over the age of 7, but they still act like puppies. The 2 things that I noticed after using this product was that my dogs are sleeping more, and they don’t tend to stir as easily when ever they hear an outside noise.
Other than that, I have not really noticed any difference, since they do not typically chew on items in my home or soil due to stress.
