Tips To Moving During A Pandemic!

The following Tips To Moving During A Pandemic is a partnered post on behalf of Infinite Moving.

Whether staying local or heading across the state or country, moving during a pandemic is probably not the most ideal activity to be currently involved with.

However you can help lessen the stress if proper planning is put into place. Being prepared can help this new transition hopefully go a little bit more smoothly.

So what steps should you take in advance to prepare for this change? Check out these Tips To Moving During A Pandemic.

Pick up boxes –

There are a number of places that you can pick up supplies from or even order online. Of course you can always ask for family and friends to drop them by as well.

If you are planning on using other peoples boxes that are not in your family’s circle, you may want to have them sit for a few days or spray with a disinfectant to help remove any potential germs. Also, don’t forget packing tape and items like bubble wrap or newspaper to help protect fragile items.

Purge Unwanted Items –

Instead of packing all of your belongings up, this is a great opportunity to get rid of items that are no longer useful or relevant to your life.

This would include cleaning out closets, going though files and shredding, sorting through desks and drawers, and deciding which furniture not to take to your new location. Once you go through these items, they should be sorted into a trash, donate, sell or pack category.

Sell items –

Hosting a garage sale during a Pandemic may not be ideal but of you decide to attempt it, be sure to price your items in advance, wear a mask, and ask for exact change.

If a garage sale is not your speed, be sure to utilize apps like Poshmark for clothes as well as Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Again be sure to maintain social distancing and meet in a safe place.

Start Packing In advance –

To lesson stress, don’t wait till the last minute to pack up your belongings. Once you have completed sorting through items, you can start packing. If you are moving to a new office, commercial moving services may be a better option to help you prepare.

Be sure to leave out necessary items like toiletries and bathroom items, clothing, as well as some cooking and kitchen supplies. (You can also use disposable cups and plates)

Label Items –

The more specific the better when it comes to labeling boxes for your move. Put which room the items belong in and detail which items are in the box.

You can do this by numbering each box and creating a list for inside or using Duck Brand Pack and Track labels with a QR code.

Pick a date to leave –

Look at factors like time off from work, availability of help, as well as the weather when you are planning your day to move.

If you are looking for a truck and man power, Infinite Moving can assist with boxes and packing, and can take the stress out of pickup and delivery of your office or home belongings. They can help make moving during a pandemic less stressful.

Map your route –

If you are traveling a longer distance, it is important to find out where bathroom stops are, gas stations, lodging, as well as where you will eat.

Since hours have been limited by a number of businesses, it is important to call in advance or look online for updated opening and closing times.

Be prepared –

As you head to your next destination have a masks as well as antibacterial hand sanitizer available.

In addition, have cleaning supplies that can be used in a hotel room or in your new home or office.

Unpack one box at a time –

When you arrive at your new location, give yourself time to settle in. It is normal to want to jump right into it all, but give yourself time to rest and start fresh.

Unpack one box at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. If setting up a kitchen, wash items as your remove them and put them away. (Use those paper plates and disposable cups if need be.) Just remember that the unpacking should be done over time, don’t try to do it all at once.

I hope you find these Tips To Moving During A Pandemic helpful and good luck on your new adventure.
