One of the uplifting moments we have experienced through this period of social distancing, was when we watched TROLLS World Tour as a family when it came out on Digital.
It truly was an upbeat light in a time that we were facing a lot of uncertainty as well as boredom due to cabin fever.
We have been fans of Poppy, Branch, as well as the other Trolls Characters ever since the original film came out. In fact, it even inspired a fun Trolls Magnet Craft that I still have hanging of my fridge.
Well now that the new film is here, I was inspired to put together a recipe for a Poppy’s Rainbow Popcorn Mix to celebrate the film. Details on how to make it are below.
Poppy’s Rainbow Popcorn Mix RECIPE, SERVES 10
Ingredients:
8 Cups of Popped Kettle Corn Flavor Popcorn
1/2 Cup of White Chocolate Chips
Nerds Rainbow Candy
What you will need:
Pink Paper Cups
Parchment or Wax Paper
Baking Pan
Spoon
Tip: I found most of these items at my local Dollar Tree.
DIRECTIONS:
To begin, pop a bag of Microwave Popcorn. Once cooled, remove any unpopped kernels and place on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Tip: This should make around 8 cups of popcorn, however have another bag ready to pop just in case you need it.
Next, melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave. I used a glass microwave safe container and I suggest starting with 30 seconds and stirring. If needed, use 15 second increments to avoid burning the chocolate as it melts.
To finish the Rainbow Popcorn Mix, drizzle the white chocolate over top with the spoon and sprinkle the Nerds over top (I used about half a box). Then, place the Rainbow Popcorn Mix in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets. Once hardened, break apart the pieces.
I served the popcorn mix in Pink Cups because they have that Poppy Vibe.
If you are hosting a drive-by birthday, you can always place these into a clear treat bag to pass out and twist tie the top to keep the treat fresh.
