I was sent a bottle of Carapelli Extra Virgin Olive Oil to review here on At Home Moma.
Carapelli Olive Oil is Italy’s market leader in extra virgin olive oil and is Italy’s best known brand of olive oil in general. Constantino Carapelli started the company by selling olive oil and grain in 1893, founding a family business that became an Italian tradition. Source carapelliusa.com
My husband is Italian and until I married him, I really did not use Olive Oil very much. But once I started preparing meals as a married couple, I incorporated olive oil into many of my dishes. Plus since olive oil obviously has many health benefits, it is naturally cholesterol free and is a a monounsaturated fat, I also substitute olive oil in the place of vegetable oil, butter, and margarine when I can.
I used the Carapelli Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a number of dishes that I already make, and it tasted wonderful and the dishes turned out great.
These dishes included:
Whole Chicken: I rubbed the Chicken with the Carapelli Extra Virgin Olive Oil and added pepper, garlic powder, dried basil and salt and baked it in the oven. It was delicious!
Asparagus: I cooked it on the stove with the Carapelli Olive Oil and added garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I cooked the Asparagus until it was done and it turned out great.
Waffles: I substituted Carapelli Olive Oil in the place of Vegetable Oil. And guess what. It tasted like a waffle and best of all, the kiddos ate it!
Brownies: My daughter and I made a Duncan Hines Brownie Mix and substituted the vegetable oil that the directions called for with Carapelli Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The brownies were yummy!
