Thank you to Renuzit and Homegoods for providing me with product to complete my Mini Office Makeover.  Opinions expressed are that of my own.

Mini Office Makeover Renuzit and Homegoods

I have a confession to make, I had a disorganized home office. Whether it was due to lack of space or lack of proper equipment, it was a mess. It is still a work in progress, however I now have a much neater space due to my Mini Office Makeover!

In addition to being a Mom, Wife, and Blogger, I am also the Box Tops and Labels for Education Coordinator for my children’s school. That means I get a lot of plastic bags filled with UPCs and various papers. So while I wait to batch them, I have to store the items and have an eye sore under my desk. I don’t mind doing it at all, but it would be nice to find a better solution to the clutter.

Renuzit Pearl Scents Sparkling Rain

When I was recently given an opportunity from Renuzit to shop at Homegoods to find organization or home upgrade items, I decided it was time to tackle this area. To get started, I first picked out my favorite color of Renuzit Pearl Scents. I happen to be a big fan of the green variety called “Sparkling Rain”, plus the color and scent reminds me of nature and gardening.

It was then time to take a trip up to Homegoods. I already had an idea of what I wanted to do, so before I left I measured my desk around the front 3 sides and the height. My hopes was to find a tablecloth that would fold and adhere to the outside.

Mini Office Makeover Supplies

While shopping, I found a Oblong 52X70 Designer Tablecloth by Max Studio in the Kitchen Area. I then visited the storage area and found 2 thin square boxes that could slide underneath my desk. Finally I wanted to add some comfort to my office, so I picked up a feather filled pillow by Devi Designs with my initial C.

Before I could even begin to decorate though, I needed something to help stick the tablecloth. I visited a craft store and picked up 2 – VELCRO Brand – Sticky Back – 7/8″ Squares, 12 Sets – Clear.

Mini office Organization Makeover

To get the Tablecloth to stay, I first put on one side of the Velcro.  I then removed the backing of the other side and placed it on. Next, I laid the Tablecloth across and carefully removed the top pieces of Velcro leaving them attached to the tablecloth.

After that, I did an X Stitch across each square to keep it attached.

In the meantime my in-laws gave us an antique chair, so I switch it in and added my new pillow. Finally I utilized my new boxes to help clean-up the area. My Mini Office Makeover was then complete.

What DIY ways have you found to hide unsightly items in your home or office area?

It's kind of hard to hide the boyfriend's clutter. If something has a top to it, he puts stuff on it. When company comes over, I just throw everything into boxes and throw in the storage room.
