Just because we don’t typically get snow here in Florida, doesn’t mean that we can’t have a Winter Wonderland.
My family really enjoys the Christmas Season, and because of this, I decided to create some colder climate fun at home and also get us in the Holiday Spirit.
Now in order to do this, we took a trip up to Walmart to check out the Northpole by Hallmark located towards the front of the store.
There we found instant Snow Now, Snowby Polar Bears with Books, Bake Like an Elf Kits with Recipe Cards, and so much more.
After some discussion, we decided it would be fun to make home-made snow, bake a few Christmas Cookies, and try out a Northpole Communicator.
First things first, to recreate a Winter environment we tried out the instant Snow Now. Just by adding a little water to the mix, our creation came to life. The kids were amazed by this!
After playing in the snow for a bit, they were then ready to “Bake Like an Elf“.
Since I already had the ingredients on hand, we decided to make a batch of Grandma Gilly’s Winter Magic Sugar Cookies.
Each of my older kids took a turn adding in ingredients and mixing. As it came together, the kids kept commenting,“MMMM this smells so good”.
Once it was ready, I put the dough in the fridge to firm up for the next day.
The following evening after school and showers, the kids decorated the dough with red and green sprinkles. I then put the cookies in the oven.
When they were done, these Holiday Desserts were devoured rather quickly. I thought they tasted pretty magical.
Of course the one thing my kids are eagerly anticipating to play with, is the Northpole Communicator. Starting December 1st, they will start receiving communications via this Interactive Microphone. We are excited to hear all the fun going on at Santa’s Workshop.
How do you get your family in the Holiday spirit? Will you all be watching the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Northpole”?
