I was provided an advanced copy of Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee to facilitate this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
Do you have a child that is a fan of Transformers? If so, Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee on is coming out on DVD 2/25!
Both my husband and I grew up with Transformers, so needless to say we are also fans of the series. I had the toys, and my son even plays with ones my husband collected as a boy. My almost 8-year-old son was definitely excited to get this DVD since it features one of his top 3 favorite characters, Bumblebee. He has had an awesome full size Bumblebee toy for years. Of course Optimus Prime is a top favorite as well with Rachet coming in a close second.
Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee is rated TV Y7, runs for 88 minutes, and is affordable at a price of $9.99. It includes four episodes; Masters and Students, Operation Bumblebee: Part 1, Operation Bumblebee: Part 2, and Deadlock. The DVD showcases the continued struggles between the Autobots and Decepticons, and does contain robot fighting and action sequences. In addition, it has humor in relation to the Robots trying to understand why humans do the things that they do and shows compassion between the Autobot Robots, and the people they are protecting.

I asked my son what he thought of this DVD, and he said he liked it, it was funny at times, interesting, and scary as well. I asked him why he thought it was scary and he said in one of the episodes, “Bumblebee almost died, and during a battle Megatron actually got killed”. As always I used this as a teaching moment and we talked about how it is terrible when a life is lost whether good or bad, and unfortunate that they could not work out their differences.
Are your children fans of Transformers? Who is their favorite character?
