April 29, 2021 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 42 Comments

A special thank you goes out to Kindhumans for sending me a Kindness Pass It On T Shirt as well as other items to check out as part of the Ambassador’s Program. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

I know I have said this many times recently, but it definitely is an understatement to say that 2020 to 2021 has been difficult.

See why this Kindness Pass It On T Shirt from Kindhumans is helping communities and use the code CARLEE to SAVE 10% on your next purchase at kindhumans.com.

Kindness Pass It On T Shirt from Kindhumans

Lets just say that this has probably been one of the most stressful times in our lives. Whether a loss of a loved one, employment, overall health, or simply the normal school routine, we all have felt the pain.

This experience isn’t just affecting us though, it has spilled out into our neighborhoods, states, neighboring countries, as well across the Globe.

Personally, I decided to take that sense of loss and turn it into something constructive.

Over the summer and while my oldest son was on a hybrid schedule for school, we looked for volunteer opportunities in our community.

We even volunteered together at a Food Pantry (which I continue to do so) and got involved with a nonprofit that promotes literacy. In addition, we figured out how to communicate with family members via Zoom, watched movies together, played boards games, and even tried new recipes.

As a parent my goal was to keep things positive and as normal as normal could be under the circumstances.

Kindness Pass It On T Shirt from Kindhumans!

… and speaking of positivity, I was excited to get a Kindness Pass It On T Shirt.

In addition, I loved the Kindness Pass It On Trucker Hat and fun stickers from Kindhumans. The motto on these items truly embody how I have attempted to live my life as a Human, Parent, and Friend.

Just like name implies kindness, Kindhumans credo is to simplify sustainable shopping by finding the very best products that are kind to people and kind to the planet.

Use the code CARLEE to SAVE 10% on your next purchase at kindhumans.com.

Their goal is to provide sustainable and eco friendly products that are ethically made and with no harmful ingredients. Plus, 3% of purchases go towards an act of kindness for kids, the planet or for humanitarian aid.

Speaking of how they have given back, Kindhumans have planted 10,113 trees and counting to combat climate change through Sea Trees. In addition, they have provided 160,133 gallons of water and counting of safe drinking water to families in Flint, Michigan through 501cTHREE, and shared 1,814 days of mentorship for at-risk kids via STOKED.

What is a recent act of kindness you have witnessed? Are you involved in any type of volunteering in your community? If so, which organization?

This is definitely a brand and an idea that my family can get behind. I am proud to display the clothing as well as have my daughter apply a sticker to her laptop. To learn how your purchase will help pass on kindness, visit kindhumans.com/giveback.

A woman stopped and said calves had gotten loose down the road. We live in the country and after she called non emergency police number, they came out with a few neighbors and helped round up the calves safely to their enclosure for that neighbor.

I was in the grocery store and the woman in front of me purchased a toy for the child in line front of her. The child was wanting somekind of a baseball card thing and his mother was saying no and trying to get him to come along. The whole act of kindness brought tears to my eyes.

I am lucky enough to see kindness often. A few years ago, I started a library in my neighborhood. I also volunteered in our tenant group and became the Chair of the Board of Commisioners. I was diagnosed with Lupus and had to stop volunteering for a while but I hope to get back soon. Today I was able to participate in our local Green Up event cleaning up our state.

I volunteer at the local animal shelter helping to socialize the animals while they wait for their forever home. There are so many great programs that volunteers help with in addition to helping at adoption events and opening their homes to foster animals. I also help with our free community cat spay/neuter program. One program that has been extremely beneficial during this time has been the pet pantry, which provides supplemental food for pet guardians in need of assistance. At one event in a high poverty area we served a couple hundred people. It was sad to see the need, but great that people cared enough about their pets to do what was necessary to ensure they are well cared for.

Sunday morning at the grocery store, the young man in front of me, had his card rejected at the register. I could tell he had groceries for himself. It looked like a weeks worth of groceries. Sandwich fixings and hamburger meat. It was $42.00. I only have an EBT card. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, so I paid for his groceries. He was so thankful. I also shelter elderly rescue cats.

My kids and I volunteer at various non-profit organization such as Feed the Starving Children, St. Vincent de Paul, etc. We try to do more when we can.
