When I was sent the Blu-ray for the film The Peanut Butter Falcon to review from Lionsgate, I really had no idea what to expect.
I had seen a few commercials on television, but didn’t know what the story was about. However, I did know that it starred Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and a new comer Zack Gottsagen, a young man with Down Syndrome.
Well now that I have seen the Blu-ray, I am telling you that this is a production you do not want to miss. Plus it was certified FRESH by Rotten Tomatoes, so there is some great content there.
After I watched, I just felt uplifted for being able to have seen this heartwarming story.
It is PG-13 and a film that is NOT appropriate for young children due to some foul language and violence, however I would definitely let my teen watch it because of its good message.
Not only is this story about the empowerment for individuals with disabilities, but it also speaks to the ability to make improvements to oneself even when hitting rock bottom. In addition, to speaks a lot to finding redemption and self healing.
About The Peanut Butter Falcon Blu-ray
This film follows Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down syndrome who runs away from a residential nursing home to fulfill his dream of attending the pro wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church).
On the road, Zak meets Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), a small-time outlaw who becomes Zak’s unlikely coach and ally.
Together, they set out on a wild, life-changing journey and try to convince Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a kind nursing-home employee charged with bringing Zak back, to join them.
