A special thank you goes out to Rosalie Guillem for hosting my daughter and me at the St. Armands Circle location and introducing us to Le Macaron French Pastries offerings. Opinions expressed are that of my own.
Whether you have visited a Le Macaron before or contemplating the first trip, let me first start off by saying, “Their Macarons are awesome but it’s not just about the confections AKA cookies. OK, well it is mostly about that.”
Now don’t get me wrong, the amazing assortment of beautiful and flavorful French Macarons are a huge draw for my daughter and me, but there is so much more to this French Pastry establishment.
We had the pleasure of the meeting with the co-founder & CEO Rosalie Guillem as well as her granddaughters, and after chatting and visiting with them, I can tell that one of the goals is making your visit enjoyable and truly appreciating the experience of a French Macaron.
During our trip to the St. Armands Circle location in Sarasota Florida, Mrs. Guillem shared her story of how she was motivated to start this business out of the love of family. She also explained the process of bringing her vision of Authentic French Pastries to America.
Let’s just say that it involved lots of experimentation with flavors, colors, and portions in the kitchen with her daughter and son in law. After taste testing a few of the items available at the store, I can tell you that they got it right.
Planning your next visit to a local Le Macaron or traveling to a location? Check out my Reasons To Visit Le Macaron With Your Family! (I am sure your family will discover even more after your visit)
Cookies and Pastries –
Of course I have to talk about the Macaron Cookies, but this isn’t the only pastry you will find. We tried chocolate filled croissants, Madeline cookies, as well as cakes.
As for the Le Macaron Varieties, they are made with no gluten containing ingredients at around 80 calories each. We not only tried the Pistachio flavor and Mint, but we came home with a box full of flavors like Raspberry, Madagascar Black Vanilla, and Mango.
I have to say that Bubblegum is probably my favorite flavor right now, it is tasty and a really cool looking dessert with sprinkles.
Family Friendly Environment-
My daughter enjoyed her time visiting with Rosalie’s Granddaughters at the store. They chatted about school, their interests, and enjoyed desserts and Hot Cocoa while they hung out together. (Mom enjoyed a Cafe Latte!)
Le Macaron is a great place to bring family and friends, socialize, and kick back to enjoy all of the flavorful combinations of coffees and sweets. The St. Armands Circle location has outdoor seating, making it a destination to also enjoy the local sights.
If you aren’t in the mood for candies or cookies and want a cool treat, you can also find French Gelato in store. Of course you can pair the 2 in a dish or create a Macaron Glacé with gelato as the center.
Fine Chocolates and Candies-
Talk about “Eye Candy” I could just stare at all of these creations. That is the great thing about Le Macaron, at each visit you can explore a different treat.
Gift Ideas –
Looking for an unique gift for a friend? How about an assortment of Macarons in a box or a gift certificate to the store.
I am sure a beautiful box of fine candies and chocolate would be a welcomed addition to a celebration. Plus, be sure to look for adorable branded items like my daughter’s Macaron key chain.
Personally, I would be thrilled to receive any of these goodies in a box!
Cakes and Cookies for Celebrations-
Have an upcoming birthday, family get together, or special event? Le Macaron makes cakes and can help with desserts at your party. They have ready made cakes in a display case with flavors like chocolate and meringue. Be sure to call ahead to see what is available.
