Is this your first year for Back To School Shopping? How about looking to be more efficient in your selections?
Over the past few weeks, my husband and I have been doing our annual shopping for school supplies.
Whether buying uniforms, items off the teacher’s lists, or the necessary accessories to help our students take lunches and books, we managed to survive shopping for and with 3 kiddos.
Now I will admit that it wasn’t that simple, especially with rounding up our group in stores, however I am happy to report that we got everything that we needed and our trips were a success. (We are a little tired now.)
Plus we all felt great about the Backpacks, Shoes, as well as accessories they selected to express their personal style at Kohl’s.
Both my oldest and middle child picked up Backpacks, a Gym Bag, and Lunch Box from the Under Armour line. In addition, my little guy and oldest are now rocking a pair of Nike Shoes. I was excited to see that all the items they selected were on sale and their shoes were 25% off. Look at Kohl’s Coupons for additional special offers.
Check out my family’s Tips To Surviving Back To School Shopping With Kids:
Do your research –
Know your school’s dress code as well as ask your children what they had in mind. If they will be carrying a Laptop, confirm which Backpacks come with that particular section.
Plus look at what is on SALE and use coupons! I ended up saving over $180 on my trip with discounts and a 30% off coupon for my Kohl’s charge (Plus I got KOHL’S CASH). FYI, the Friends and Family Sale is coming up August 17th-20th with 20% off with code SAVER.
Know your sizes and bring a list –
In advance check to see what your children’s sizes are and list what they need. This helps the process go smoother, and keeps you on task.
Eat a meal before you go –
Don’t shop on an empty stomach, it makes for a moody group of people. Plus, you want to try to get it all done as efficiently as possible without having to leave.
Make sure they take naps –
Grouchy kids (NO Thank you). Plus, younger kids may need this to have the endurance to make it through the shopping trip.
Ask for help –
In the interest of time, instead of searching the store for an item, ask a sales associate. FYI, you can go to a kiosk at Kohl’s to see if the item is offered online, and place the order as well as pay right on the spot.
Allow yourself plenty of time –
Even if you know what you want, the kiddos do change their minds. Plus you may see something else, not like what they originally selected, or not find the size they need.
Divide and conquer –
If you are shopping with a spouse, family member, or a friend, split up to save time. My hubby took the 2 smaller kids, while my very particular 11 year old shopped for shoes.
