Flower Bookmark Craft, Colorful Way To Encourage Reading!

disclosure-for-site

July 18, 2017 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 25 Comments

We have been to the Library a few times already this summer and I am certain we will be back again before school starts.

I am really pleased with the books my kiddos have been selecting and excited that my daughter has been finishing most of them before it is time to either return or renew.

One of the fun projects we worked on during the first few weeks of summer was to put together a fun and colorful Flower Bookmark Craft.

Today I am sharing how made a Flower Bookmark Craft and thanks to Craft Projects Ideas I was provided complimentary supplies to complete our creation, as always opinions expressed are that of my own.

To make this Flower Bookmark Craft you will need the following:

Jumbo Craft Sticks

Fuzzy Sticks AKA Pipe Cleaners

Plastic Craft Buttons

Glue

Optional: Ruler

Directions:

To get started, first select a pipe cleaner. Craft Project Ideas makes Fuzzy Sticks with all sorts of bright colors like pink, green, purple, and more. For our example, I used pink.

Then make loops in the pipe cleaner around every 2 cm.

Once you have that completed, start twisting the bottoms of each loop twice.

Spread each out with your finger and form into a flower shape.

Tip: If one loop is larger than the others, just twist it again.

Next, add a liberal amount of glue to the top of the Jumbo Craft Stick and push the flower into this.

Then select 2 buttons, one large one small preferably in different colors. This time our colors were Yellow and Blue.

Add glue to the top of the flower and press the large button down, then add glue to the top of the larger Plastic Craft Button and press the smaller button down.

Finally allow the bookmark to lay flat to dry and by the next day, it should be ready to be used in a book!

I love that my daughter was so excited to start putting the bookmark she made to work.

Do you have a creative idea for a bookmark or have you seen a neat one recently? Please share in the comments!

I hope your kiddos enjoy this Flower Bookmark Craft just as much as my daughter did!

I've used big clothing tags with fun characters on them for bookmarks. I've gotten a lot of minion ones recently. I punched a hope at the top and added handmade blue and yellow tassels made of yarn.
