Tips To Help Kids Get Ready For Summer Camp!

As we head into the summer, many families will start to send their kiddos off to camp. Whether spending part of morning or the entire day, it is important to help make this transition as easy as possible.

Not only does a child’s routine along with a little planning guide this process, but taking steps to maintain their digestive health will help this new adventure go smoothly. Since my family has participated in various camps over the years, here are my Tips To Help Kids Get Ready For Summer Camp!

1. Label all clothing and supplies –

Make sure your child returns home with what they brought to avoid extra stress. We keep a permanent marker and labels handy to add initials to water bottles, lunches boxes, as well as sports equipment.

2. Maintain regular school bedtimes –

The best way to start of a kids day at summer camp is with proper sleep. I find it best to just keep with the school schedule. This will help them rise and shine to get ready, and hopefully keep them in a better mood.

3. Send them with plenty of Water  –

Since the weather is warmer it is imperative to keep everyone properly hydrated. Especially if the camp is athletic or outdoors, they will need to drink more frequently. Sending refillable water bottles will be a great reminder to drink.

4. Apply sunscreen and provide it for the day –

Not only is it necessary to send kids to camp with sunscreen on, but depending upon the length of the stay they may need to reapply. For my older kids, packing sunscreen sticks is an excellent option.

5. Keep bellies in check with well balanced meals along with Probiotics –

The last thing I want is an upset belly on the way to camp. Not only is it a good idea to start with a good breakfast, but also pack well balanced snacks and lunches with items like fruits and vegetables. In addition, probiotics like Align Jr can help support their digestive health.* This is especially helpful as they get treats or have slight changes in diet during the summer.

Align is the #1 Doctor and Gastroenterologist-recommended probiotic brand‡, and now is available in chewables that are made just for kids age 6-12 years old. Align Jr. is a daily supplement containing the unique pure-strain probiotic Bifidobacterium infantis 35624, is Gluten-Free, and created with no artificial sweeteners or colors.

Probiotics are so important! My daughter just got over an ear infection and had to take antibiotics, so she could really use some good probiotics. These sound perfect and easy for kids to take.

These are all excellent camp tips! My kids are staying close to home this year, but with all of our summer barbecues and treats, a quality probiotic is a good idea.

These are excellent tips. If your kids are going to summer camp, keeping them on a scheduled will help them get the most out of the trip by ensuring that their bodies remain in that routine.
