Sausage Chili Recipe

Just so you know, developing this recipe was completely by accident. I was in the mood for Chili and was out of Ground Beef so I substituted in the Sausage. I also decided to use Salsa in the place of Chili Powder, and it all worked out great!

If you would like to recreate this Sausage and Chili Recipe, the ingredients and instructions are below.

Sausage Chili Ingredients

What you will need for the Sausage and Chili Recipe is:

1 – 13 oz Fully Cooked Package of Turkey Polska Kielbasa

1 – 14.5 oz Can of Diced Tomatoes (I used the no salt added with Basil, Garlic, & Oregano)

1 –  15.5 oz Can of Light Red  Kidney Beans

1/2 Cup of Mild Salsa

1 Tbsp of Olive Oil

To begin, slice the sausage up into very small pieces.  Then, add a tablespoon of olive oil to a pan and cook the sausage for 10 minutes on medium.

At the same time, combine your tomatoes, beans, and 1/2 cup of salsa in a pot and cook on Medium for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. I put on a cup of white rice to cook as well.

After the 10 minutes, add the sausage to the tomato mix. Move this to a low setting until you are ready to serve.

Once we were ready to eat, I served the Chili over the rice and it was delicious. My family of 5 was satisfied and I even had leftovers for the next day.

Do you make a Sausage and Chili Recipe? What ingredients do you include?

If you try this recipe out, let me know what you think!
