I happen to be the Box Tops for Education Coordinator at my children’s school and one of the ways I have encouraged participation is through creating giveaways to raffle like this Football Themed Gift Basket Idea.
Last year, I had bought football themed items at the Dollar Store and that gave me an idea to create a Football Tailgating Gift Basket.
I think it turned out pretty good, and if you are looking to also create a similar item either for a raffle, a birthday gift, or even a present for the holidays, here is how I did it.
What you need to package it:
A small box
Newspaper
Filler paper (1 probably should have bought 2 packages from the Dollar Store)
Green Tissue Paper
Tape
Cello Wrap
Items to include that I got from the Dollar Store:
Football platter
Football Bowls
Forks
Paper Cups
Napkins
Paper Plates
Mini Footballs
Suggested food items (of course I got what was on sale or the store brand):
Tortilla Chips
Salsa
Potato Chips
Peanuts
Cookies
$5 Gift Card for Drinks
To create the basket, I first filled the bottom of the box with newspaper. Then, I put the filler paper on top of that.
Next, I placed the football platter in the back and then started arranging the items based on size in front of that.
Then, I stuck in the mini footballs for decoration and finally taped the gift card to the top of the platter.
After this I put the green tissue paper under the box and made it long enough to where I could wrap it over the edges of the box.
Then, I placed the plastic cello wrap over it and taped it where needed.
Finally I made a little note to go on the outside with a football graphic that explained what was in the basket.
It was then ready to go up to the school to put on display.
Have you ever made a Football Themed Gift like this before? What items did you include?
I hope you find this basket idea helpful and I hope the “RECEIVER” enjoys it as well!
