Last Thursday morning around 2:00am, my water broke and by 7:45 am I got to meet the newest addition to our family, Baby Nicholas. He was 9lbs 2 ounces 21 inches, and is just the sweetest little baby.
We made this a family event at the hospital, with Dad, both kids, my Mom, Sister in law, and Mother in law. We were all pretty sleepy, but we wanted the kids to be there when this little guy came into the world.
Since I had a C-section, I recovered for 2 1/2 days and we came home from the hospital Saturday afternoon. I am happy to report the first doctor’s appointments went great for both of us and Nicholas is even gaining back the weight that he lost in the hospital.
Since he has been born, the kids have been beside themselves wanting to hold their little brother and feed him, so this past Monday we finally let them. As you can tell by my daughter’s face, she was ecstatic.
Thankfully hubby is home with me this week and will be working part-time for a couple of weeks, so we can start to make the transition from having 2 kids to 3. What is really awesome, is I have actually been sneaking in naps here and there. I am definitely thankful to have a supportive family and hubby around.
So today Nicholas is officially a week old and we are so glad to have him be a part of our family.
