Crock Pot Chuck Roast Recipe! Made With Hearty Vegetables and Knorr Homestyle Stock!

disclosure-for-site

April 10, 2012 Carlee at Fun Learning Life 8 Comments

I just love my Crock Pot!

I had picked up a Chuck Roast from Publix recently when they were running it on sale, and had some veggies that I needed to use, so Monday was Roast Night.  And, since we also have soccer practice, I like to make a Crock Pot meal so I am not having to rush around to fix dinner.

Normally I will throw in a Bouillon cube with a roast, but I had received a FREE Sample of the Knorr Homestyle Stock Chicken Flavor through a Smiley360 Mission a while back, so I decided to use this.

Here is what you need to make the Crock Pot Chuck Roast:

1 Boneless Chuck Roast 2lb
1 tub of Knorr Homestyle Stock Chicken Flavor
2 cups of Water
2 stalks of Celery chopped
2 cups of Baby Carrots
5 Red Potatoes chopped into medium size pieces
1/2 tsp of Onion Powder
1/2 tsp of Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp of Pepper

Total cook time is 5 hours.

Here is how I prepared it:

First, I set the Crock Pot on high and combined the Knorr Homestyle Stock and 2 cups of water directly in the Crock Pot. Then I added the Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, and Pepper to this mix and stirred.

I then chopped up the vegetables, added the Roast to the Crock Pot and poured the vegetables on top.

After 2 hours, I moved the Crock Pot to the low setting and flipped the roast over and placed it on top of the vegetables.

I left it at the low setting for 2 hours, and then moved it to the warm setting for 1 hour.  Then Served.

This turned out great, and my 3 year old daughter complimented me by saying, “Moma, you are a good maker!”

Hope you enjoy this recipe as well!

Such a lovely recipe for a meal. To me Pot Roast is one of those meals I think of for family dinners and winter days to warm you up! Thanks for reminding me that I need to fix some.

Yum! I love cooking with our crockpot, too. We make a similar dish quite often in the fall and winter month. Will have to try the Knorr stock out, sounds like it would add some nice flavor.

I love Knorr... I grew up with them in Germany and their products are always wonderful and flavorful... Soooo glad I can finally use some of the products in the US... I haven't used the stock in a pot roast, think I will make one tomorrow for dinner.. thanks for a great idea.. and glad you enjoy it as well.

I was just talking to my husband about taking out the Crock Pot now that the cold weather is upon us. I will definitely be adding this recipe to my bag of tricks for this winter.

Just came across this recipe, sounds great. One question, what size crock pot do you recommend? We have a 4-quart.

Emme, Mine is a 6 quart, so you may have to reduce the amount of veggies. I would just make the adjustment as you see fit. Hope that helps, Carlee
