Thanks to HEXBUG, I was sent a HEXBUG Crab to review here on At Home Moma.
The HEXBUG Crab is a robotic creature that reacts to light and sound. You simply clap your hands near the Crab, and it reacts to the sound and changes directions. If you create a dark space for the HEXBUG Crab, it will stop moving. It comes in 5 different colors including Red, Indigo, Green, Turquiose, and Grey. Batteries are included. This product is recommended for children ages 8 and up.
My kids and I got to try out a Grey HEXBUG Crab, and even though, they are under 8, they still thought it was pretty neat. My son even took it to school for show and tell.
My son playing with the HEXBUG Crab and clapping to make it change directions.
I knew that the product reacted to sound, but did not realize that it reacted to light and dark until I started writing the review and was looking up the product specs. If you cast a shadow over it, (must be completely dark) it will actually stop moving, and once you expose it to light again, it will start back up. Visit hexbug.com/crab to check out all of the product details.
Light and Dark experiment, make sure you turn up the volume.
I must say what really amazes me is how life like this product is, and I think my dogs are still trying to figure out what kind of animal it is.
