The mat is very absorbent, and I used it when I got out of the shower, and I also used it while I was getting ready for the day at the sink. It is really nice to stand on something so soft.
However, I would recommend choosing a darker color especially if you have young children or animals. I was sent the Ivory color to review and with 2 Kids 2 Dogs, and a Cat, it shows dirt rather easily.
